18th October 2012
We first started off by doing a make up
trial where we all used different face paints and eye shadows to make realistic
looking bruises, I was not the best person at creating them so I decided to
take charge of the camera to film our progress. The first location for filming
was at the house, I was in charge of the filming and also directed along side
Claudia to guide Abigail on our desired outcome. We were unsure how to film
under low lighting, which could mean re-filming some sections tomorrow.
We then moved to a different location
closer to the forest area to prepare Rebecca, our actress playing the murdered
girl. We all participated in applying the make up; I painted her arms with
white face paint as well as contouring the hollows of her cheeks to give a
corpselike effect. During this process I took numerous pictures of different
stages of getting Rebecca ready. I was again the cameraperson and part director
at the new location. The preparations took longer than expected which rushed the
planned schedule for filming.
George [the dog] was over excited while
travelling to the location but did not participate as we hoped today, so we
decided to film other parts such as close up of Rebecca’s face and legs
dangling from the tree to make the most of our time at the location. We will be
attempting to film George again at a rescheduled filming session with the
anticipation that we will get what we hoped for with the help of toys and
treats as a reward.
When I got home I uploaded the footage we filmed
today onto my computer and memory stick as backup and deleted the data off the
SD card, as we are limited on memory. I edited the video of the make up trial [bruises]
and uploaded it onto YouTube as evidence of our research before we filmed.
We managed to get the majority of what we
planned to do completed but we need to improve our time management skills to
stay on schedule and finish the product within the deadline.
