Mai was walking her dog in the woods at night like she usually does but her dog goes crazy, barks and runs off. Mai follows the dog and discovers the body of a dead girl (in a white dress, bare dirty feet). She’s scared and doesn’t know what to do, she panics and runs away.

One day after the incident she returns home from school and sees a similar white dress (flickers to seeing the body of the dead girl then back to normal)

Mum asks her what is wrong and she denies that something is wrong.

Night time on the same day, the white dress is hanging on her bedroom doorframe. She falls asleep and has a dream of being killed by hanging and wakes up with cold sweat, bruising and scratches on her wrists.

When she get is getting ready for school she decides to wear a short sleeve t-shirt (not realizing about the bruises and scratches). When she checks her outfit in the mirror she quickly grabs a jumper/cardigan to cover up the bruises.

Mai rushes out of the house, not eating breakfast, while she runs down the road she knocks into someone in the street and exposes her bruises.

Mai gets home after school that day to find out about the death of the stranger she bumped into in the morning.

That night, Mai has the reoccurring dream again (snippets of previous dream) and wakes up with bruising on her neck as well as her wrists.

Mum wondering why Mai is wearing a scarf in hot weather and realises something is wrong.

Mai says she is not feeling well and wants to try to stay at home, her mum has to go to work and she is left home alone.

 Mai goes to take a (steamy) shower to clear her mind and sees a face/figure through the steam. Mai wipes the glass and finds that there is nothing there.

Mai gets a phone call from one of her friends asking her why she wasn’t at school today and jokes about her still being alive. Mai’s friend realises from her reply that something is wrong and ask if she is okay. Mai starts listing things related to her witnessing the body of the girl (broken sentences, that will not make sense to her friend but the audience will understand). Mai suddenly realises the phone line is dead (signifying that something has happened to her friend).

Mai drops the phone and cuts to the fast pace editing of the ghost mentally torturing Mai.
